What is StoreGrid?
How is it different from other backup software?
Vembu StoreGrid is a Disk to Disk (D2D) data backup software primarily used for online backups! Depending on your requirements, you could choose between our Service Provider (SP) Edition, the Professional Edition, and the free "Free Edition".
StoreGrid supports various forms of disk to disk (D2D) backup: Onsite client-server backups, Remote/online backups and StoreGrid's unique trusted peer to peer backup, wherein you could choose to put free hard disk space lying in your PCs to good use! It also supports various Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices and External Hard Disks.
Designed for workstation and server backups, StoreGrid supports Exchange Server backups & SQL Server backups and has a 1-Click selection facility for 'common backups'. Besides, it works on Windows, Linux, Mac & FreeBSD operating systems!
Like we said, its flexible!
More importantly, StoreGrid offers all this flexibility without compromising on the basics! All Editions employ our Intelli-Delta Technology (based on the powerful & proven RSYNC algorithm) to ensure that after the first 'seed' backup, only byte level changes in files & folders are backed up thereafter. Data is well encrypted (up to 448 bit encryption) and password protected, optimally compressed, and best of all – StoreGrid works quietly in the background without eating into your CPU. But these are the basics you should expect from any backup software!
Storegrid has a lot more - an extremely intuitive and user friendly user interface, detailed reporting thanks to an embedded database, versioning with timestamps, file level restores, multiple full backups, high end event management features with the facility to share/email regular reports, every conceivable scheduling option including CDP, the ability to initiate backups locally and continue with incremental backups remotely, and much more.
We could go on and on about why StoreGrid is different – but it would be best if you found out for yourself by downloading it ! Have a look at an overview of StoreGrid's features to know more.
